ESOMAR would like to send our most sincere gratitude to Reg Baker for his lifelong dedication to the market research and insights industry.

Reg retired from the North American Regional Ambassador role at ESOMAR on December 31, 2021. In this role, Reg worked with ESOMAR’s North American Representatives, partners, and associates to develop membership and partner collaborations in the United States and Canada.

Before transitioning into the ambassador position, Mr. Baker served as a consultant to ESOMAR’s Professional Standards Committee for nine years.

Reg was an influential leader in the market research industry for over 40 years and is an acknowledged and trusted expert in quantitative market research. Throughout this career, he focused on new technologies' methodological and operational implications.

Previous to his work with ESOMAR, he spent four years as Executive Director of the Market Research Institute International (MRII), ESOMAR’s educational partner. While at MRII, Reg delivered the Principle Express family of courses in partnership with the University of Georgia. These online courses were designed and developed to offer affordable education to market researchers across the globe.

In 2020, MRII introduced the Reg Baker Award to cover enrollment costs for market researchers around the globe who are interested in furthering their careers.

Before his initial retirement in 2012, Reg was the President and Chief Operating Officer of Market Strategies International, a US-based custom research and analytics company, where he served for seventeen years.

In 1995, he served as Vice President of Research Services for NORC at the University of Chicago and was responsible for information resource management and oversight of the NORC staff.

Thank you for your lifelong dedication to the research industry, and best wishes for a well-deserved retirement.
