Generation1.ca Wins Best Paper Award at ESOMAR’s Art & Science of Innovation

Generation1.ca’s founder and CEO and Professor of business, data, analytics and insights at the Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, Arundati Dandapani, MLitt, CAIP, CIPP/C, CIPM, and Nancy Deng, Analytics & Insights leader, MSc, was awarded the best paper award of Voicing the New Global Immigrant Realities: Empowered Insights for an Underserved Market. This is a piece that Dandapani, the lead author, began in December 2023, that was finally published in advance of her presentation at ESOMAR’s Art and Science of Innovation Conference in Chicago in June 2024.
Dandapani’s paper and presentation draws from her vision of insights around the cultural significance of the fastest growing group of citizens and consumers in North America being overlooked and underserved establishing the importance of immigrants to brands and public institutions now and in the next few decades. The paper goes on to discuss mindset actions brands and institutions must take to grow resonance with diverse multicultural immigrants, including tips and examples of where and how to research this group more effectively, why, and some projections and caveats for the future.

Marina Roman Herrera
ESOMAR Staff, Digital Marketing Specialist at ESOMARMarina joined ESOMAR in April 2023 as a Social Media Specialist. Her role involves managing and optimizing ESOMAR's social media accounts, as well as developing and implementing social media campaigns to engage with the ESOMAR community.
Prior to joining ESOMAR, Marina worked as a Social Media Marketer at LightInTheBox for a couple of years, where she gained experience in social media strategy development, content creation, and community management. She also worked as a Social Media Manager and Gallery Assistant for an art gallery in the Netherlands.
Marina, who is originally from Spain, is enthusiastic about joining the ESOMAR communication team and is excited to take ESOMAR's social media presence to the next level by implementing innovative strategies and engaging content to reach and connect with ESOMAR's community.
