Naomi began her first research job and first project in 1964 conducting door-to-door interviews in rural Virginia and by 1982 had founded RIVA Market Research and co-founded The RIVA Training Institute (RTI).
Over the course of her research career, Naomi has led more than 6,000 focus groups, countless individual interviews and, in total has talked to more than 100,000 individuals about products, services, ideas and advertising and has been the “midwife” to the birth of new products and advertising that reach millions. Her book 'Secrets of a Master Moderator' is a compilation of qualitative wisdom that is now a textbook at University of Arkansas.In addition to books she has written, she is a chapter in the books of others including: "You're Not Listening"by NY Times author Kate Murphy. .

Nikki is ESOMAR Vice-President.
Nikki is a spirited and intuitive researcher who translates her passion for understanding people into strategic insight. She has focused largely on combining ethnographic and digital techniques in a cross-cultural context, as a result of her years spent in the US and as an expat living in Paris.
In addition to her role on ESOMAR Council, Nikki also sits on the Board of the AQR (Association of Qualitative Research). She has been presenting on topics like agile qualitative research, culture & linguistics and DEI (diversity, equality and inclusion) for over 15 years.
