This award is given to the best papers presented at individual ESOMAR events held throughout an ESOMAR event season.

Each year at ESOMAR events, the insights and analytics community present some of the most thought-provoking and impactful projects undertaken across the world. A vast diversity of topics and impact are showcased through countless scientific papers and inspiring presentations.
We celebrate these exceptional community contributions through a series of awards, including our Best Paper Award, which celebrates the best scientific paper submission for each individual event.
What's the prize?
If you're out to build your personal brand, the ESOMAR Event Best Paper Award is a real opportunity to stand out in front of business leaders and data, research and insights professionals from all over the world. Award winners get a number of perks including:
Exposure during the event to make your pitch and full presentation
Exposure of your performances on ESOMAR's social media and digital channels
Recognition by the industry when included in your CV or resume.
How to win an Event Best Paper Award
Who can enter?
Those who submit a paper to our upcoming eventsTo enter, you'll first need your paper to be selected for presentation at one of the upcoming ESOMAR events.
Your paper needs to meet the following criteria to earn top marks from your jury:
Your paper contributes to excellence and best practice in research
Your paper is innovative (i.e. break new ground). It shows high levels of creativity, fresh thinking and innovation in the approach
You demonstrate a real understanding of business issues by proving its actual or potential impact on decision-making in business and/or society.
You indicate how, and under what circumstances, the theory (or the findings) may be best applied.
You focus on applications, including real examples, across cultures, business sectors and countries
You show real and deep customer and/or consumer knowledge
You show the value of scientific, statistical and analytical methods and techniques to gain insight or support decision making
In addition, the jury may take into account the extent to which your paper is useful to support our championing of insights, or deals with problems facing insights and analytics worldwide, in line with ESOMAR principles.
How do you enter?
How to make the cutBefore you can think about the Event Best Paper Award, you'll need your paper to be selected for presentation at an ESOMAR event.
Your paper is automatically entered for consideration for an Event Best Paper award at selected ESOMAR events.
Papers eligible for the award:
Your paper must be presented at ESOMAR conferences, ESOMAR annual congress or other major conferences, seminars, symposia, etc. which ESOMAR will hold alone or in cooperation with other organisations in the eligible time span.
Your paper must not be previously published in any form and must be entirely original (the authors will be required to sign a declaration to this effect).
Your paper must be supported by a full and relevant bibliography. Papers presented by speakers at the invitation of ESOMAR will not be eligible for the Award.

How it happens during our events
Your application features your scientific paper together along with your response to our call for speakers to one of our many qualifying upcoming events. To get the best chance to secure a coveted award is by following the themes announced by the event and the selection criteria.
You're halfway there once your paper is selected for presentation at one of the upcoming and qualifying ESOMAR events. Congratulations! But now, it's showtime, you'll get a chance to present on our mainstage your presentation in front of senior business leaders and raise your profile.
A jury of your peers will examine all of the papers submitted for one of the qualifying events and will make the call as to which of the submitted papers is best deserving of the Event Best Paper Award. Every award winner is automatically entered in the Best Paper of the Year Award.
